I've been reading labels for years. When I took the DSF survey http://www.davidsuzuki.org/issues/health/take-action/participate-in-our-survey-of-toxic-ingredients-in-cosmetics/ I was happy and relieved to see that most of the products I use daily did not contain any of the 'Dirty Dozen' ingredients to avoid. I also sometimes make my own products, thanks to LIndsay Coulter's recipes.
I've been trying to buy more responsible products for a few monthes, but I really started paying attention to the lables on my shampoo, lotion, etc this week and I'm horrified at what I found. I'm definatley going to be reading lables on everything that I buy from now on.
I am a bit late with this comment but Annie Leonard, author the "The Story of Stuff", has done another great animated film about Safe Cosmetics. You can see it at
